The Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation (BBF) brings together people with different perceptions for the preservation of Bulgarian nature. Established in 1997, BBF works to conserve biodiversity in Bulgaria and neighbouring countries, supporting the participation of citizens and local communities in managing natural resources and protected areas and raising public awareness on the issues of biodiversity and nature protection.
The Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation is the TCL host for the Transition Coastal Lab in Bulgaria. They are responsible for the everyday running of the TCL, communication with the coastal communities and the wider region, and the organisation of local workshops (WP2, WP3, WP4 and WP6). They will also be responsible for the Ocean Literacy capacity building in the Bulgarian TCL (WP6).
